On February 10, 2023, JSR Medical signed MOU with K-MEDI hub (Daegu-Gyeongbook Advanced Medical Industry Promotion Foundation) on joint-research for JSR Medical’s medical device that has been approved by the FDA for IDE.
JSR Medical’s medical device is an artificial intestinal management device which can overcome the limits of the conventional stoma procedure. It eliminates the need for creating an artificial stoma and possible stoma reversal surgery. From the patients’ perspective, JSR Medical’s device can significantly improve their quality of lives by not wearing the ileostomy bags.
According to the officials of JSR Medical and K-MEDI hub, “This device will change the conventional colon cancer procedure paradigm and will bring socioeconomic benefits by saving many of those who suffer from the colon cancer and its complications. We have already proven the safety and effectiveness of the device through clinical trials in South Korea and we are now gearing in for a multicenter pivotal clinical study in the U.S. for international market launch.”
JSR Medical and K-MEDI hub believe this new medical device will be the game changer in the conventional colon cancer and its consumable markets and their successful clinical study through this MOU.
JSR Medical is a South Korean medical device manufacturer established in 2016 by Dr. Kim Jae Hwang, who has served more than 30 years as a surgeon at Yeongnam University Hospital. Recently, JSR Medical has successfully conducted animal test at K-MEDI hub Pre-clinical Center and promised to continuously work together for further research projects.
